Τhe main goal of the program was to co - build a decision-support carbon tool helping local decision-makers and tourism professionals to plan and implement concrete actions to lower the environmental impact of tourism activities. A tool aiming to estimate the carbon impact of tourism activities in order to point out what could be the most relevant action to define and implement to reduce the calculated carbon emissions. It is not a mean to compare territories and tourism activities impact between each other and it is not a picture of the carbon impact of the whole territory. The tool is divided into six sectors: energy, mobility, food service, inputs, fixed assets and waste.
